The Fault In Our Stars

Fucking John Green all over again. He really needs to pick a new storyline. It was an easy (read it within a day) and mildly amusing read, but the fucking story is always the same. I was surprised by the fact that the characters went to the Vondelstraat, which made the book a little more awesome. Overall it was fine, and there were a few clever bits in there, but it was obviously meant for a younger audience. Also, Augustus had a stupid thing where he’d say “I’m in a rollercoaster that only goes up”. And he meant it in a triumphant way! Like it was a good thing! Who would want to do that? You’ll just keep getting higher, and getting more scared, and hearing that scary click click sound and knowing you’ll never. Go. Down. And yet you’ll dread that moment more and more every second you ascend.

And The Hippos Were Boiled In Their Tanks

Not exactly sure about the date on this one, but I can’t be too far off. I remember not liking it too much. It was enjoyable, but pretty much nothing happened until the very end, and by then I was surprised that it had ended. I really liked the way they built the characters, though.

Junky

Interesting. He likes comparing people to penises. Slang was annoying but I got used to it. Funny how he kept advocating weed. I think I’ll read 'and the hippos were boiled in their tanks' next.

Veronica Decides To Die

It was okay. I predicted the ending by page 25, and dr. Igor was ridiculously ignorant, but overall not a bad read.

The Hunter

All alone in unknown land
The hunter stalked his prey
He knew his task, and did his best
To keep the foes at bay.

Poised and ready to attack
He gave his bum a shake
Eyes fixed on his enemy
He heard a tree branch break

The birdy spread its tiny wings,
And soared into the sky
And with a last triumphant tweet
It sang the cat goodbye

But the hunter did not cede
He searched into the night
He combed the land and climbed the trees
Still, no bird came in sight

All alone in unknown land,
The hunter stalked his prey
And somewhere in those mighty woods
He must have gone astray
