Fucking John Green all over again. He really needs to pick a new storyline. It was an easy (read it within a day) and mildly amusing read, but the fucking story is always the same. I was surprised by the fact that the characters went to the Vondelstraat, which made the book a little more awesome. Overall it was fine, and there were a few clever bits in there, but it was obviously meant for a younger audience. Also, Augustus had a stupid thing where he’d say “I’m in a rollercoaster that only goes up”. And he meant it in a triumphant way! Like it was a good thing! Who would want to do that? You’ll just keep getting higher, and getting more scared, and hearing that scary click click sound and knowing you’ll never. Go. Down. And yet you’ll dread that moment more and more every second you ascend.
